The spirit of responsibility is one of the ten green spirit cultural systems of CEM. We take global ESG soclal responsibility and advocate integrity, loving the country, the enterprise, and emplovees. To further demonstrate the spirit of employee care in GEM and ensure the tangible implementation of its ESG strategy, the Company consistently builds bridges of love through genuine efforts and actions. It aims to create a green harbor where employees can work with peace of mind and lead happy lives, ensuring that no employee becomes an “isolated island” .

Recently, under the initiative of the labor union of GEM, various parks within the Group organized fundraising activities to support the medical expenses of employee Shan Chunlei. Employees enthusiastically donated, raising a total of over 350,000 yuan in charitable funds. Just as small streams form a great river, these acts of love have come together to form a powerful force within GEM, helping our employee Shan Chunlei overcome difficulties and igniting hope.

Shan Chunlei, from Qu County, Dazhou City, Sichuan Province, joined the Raw Material Manufacturing Department of GEM Jingmen Park in March 2018. She worked as an ordinary frontline worker in the production workshop, while her husband also used to work at GEM Jingmen Park. The couple did not have their own housing in Jingmen and lived in the company dormitory. Since their employment, both Shan Chunlei and her husband have been diligent, responsible, and earned the recognition and respect of their supervisors and colleagues.

However, unforeseen circumstances can arise at any time. On June 27th at 6 am, while on duty, Shan Chunlei suddenly fainted. After being rushed to a hospital in Wuhan for emergency treatment, she was diagnosed with three vascular malformations and is currently in a coma. Due to the complexity of her condition, Shan Chunlei needs to be transferred to large hospitals in Beijing or Shanghai for further treatment. Shan Chunlei’s parents, her grandmother, and her husband’s parents are elderly and have various health issues. Their two children are still attending school, and Shan Chunlei’s husband recently found a new job. However, the high cost of further medical treatment has placed this family in a difficult situation.

In the face of adversity, support comes from all sides! Upon learning about Shan Chunlei’s medical condition and family situation, the labor union of GEM urgently initiated a fundraising campaign across the entire organization, urging everyone to join forces and contribute with love to help Shan Chunlei and her family through this difficult time. Love poured in from all levels of the Company, with the guidance of Professor Xu Kaihua, Board Chairman of GEM. Company leaders at all levels and employees actively participated in the donation campaign. As of 12:00 pm on July 7th, the various parks within the GEM had collectively raised over 350,000 yuan in charitable funds.

On the morning of July 8th, under the caring attention of the labor union and Professor Xu Kaihua, Board Chairman of GEM, the Chairman of the Board of Supervisors of GEM, Lu Xijin, and his delegation visited Shan Chunlei, who was undergoing treatment in Wuhan. They represented Chairman Xu Kaihua and the Company in delivering the charitable funds directly to her, helping to alleviate the urgent needs of Shan Chunlei’s family. Chairman Lu Xijin and the delegation also inquired about Shan Chunlei’s treatment progress and the recent living and schooling situations of her elderly relatives and children. They expressed their genuine concern for Shan Chunlei’s well-being and wished her a speedy recovery.

“Running an enterprise with love, caring for employees and passing on love” is the purpose of the Green Love Foundation for GEM employees. Over the years, CEM has always practiced the spirit of mutual assistance, and has organized many donation activities to solve difficulties for emoloyees in distress. The donation activity organized to Shan Chunlei further reflects the deep friendship and mutual assistance and the social responsibilty of unity, and it encourages all employees to have a positive attitude towards life, creates a warm family atmosphere of “unity and friendship, mutual help and mutual assistance”, and enhances the cohesion and centripetal force of the enterprise.

May the small gestures of kindness from the GEM family converge into a tidal wave of love, bringing hope to Shan Chunlei and her family in the face of adversity. We sincerely wish Shan Chunlei the strength to overcome her illness and a speedy recovery. We look forward to her swift return to her work position, standing side by side with all the GEM family members, facing future challenges together!
