On February 5, 2025 (the eighth day of the first lunar month in the Year of the Serpent), GEM Group held its grand 2025 Opening Ceremony at its Shenzhen headquarters and Jingmen Industrial Park as the main venues, along with 13 branch venues worldwide. Professor Xu Kaihua, Chairman of GEM Group, and Ms. Wang Min, Joint Ultimate Controller and Board Director of GEM, attended the event.

At 9:28 AM, the opening ceremony commenced across all industrial parks, with firecrackers and fireworks symbolizing a prosperous start to the new year and great fortune in the Year of the Serpent. GEM Spring Tea Gathering – Jingmen Industrial Park Main Venue

Chairman Xu Kaihua shared that during the Spring Festival, over 7,000 GEM employees remained dedicated to their posts, accounting for 70% of the entire Group. On-site inspections across production lines during the holiday revealed that all business segments achieved a strong start to the year, with significant capacity expansion both domestically and internationally.

Chairman Xu announced that during the Spring Festival, QMB Industrial Park in Indonesia achieved a daily output of over 300 metric tons of nickel MHP, with over 25 tons of cobalt by-products, which shows that GEM’s nickel and cobalt production capacity is among the world's top tier—a remarkable achievement. At the same time, QMB successfully launched nickel sulfate crystal production and completed the trial run of ternary precursor production, marking a confident step into 2025. The company achieved a domestic product output of approximately 8,000 tons, showing a significant year-on-year increase. Core products such as ternary precursors, nickel plates, and electrowinning cobalt have continued to run at full production capacity.

The successful capacity expansion during the Spring Festival has set a solid foundation for 2025. GEM will continue to pursue “extreme cost reduction and maximum efficiency”, ensuring that production expansion goes hand in hand with economic benefits, laying the groundwork for high-quality development.

Chairman Xu emphasized that 2025 is a landmark year, urging GEM employees to seize opportunities and embrace the grand trends of the times. He encouraged an optimistic and proactive approach to global market dynamics, identifying opportunities amid challenges. In particular, he highlighted the strategic value of tungsten resource recycling on a global scale, calling for the subsidiary Green Tungsten Resources to expand internationally and become the “tungsten backbone” of the world.

He also reminded all GEM employees to uphold the National Development and Reform Commission’s (NDRC) guidance from the January 26 meeting, by carrying out GEM’s green mission through green actions, technologies, and philosophies. GEM will remain committed to China's circular economy, enhancing industrial growth and driving the globalization of China's recycling industry.

Chairman Xu expressed deep gratitude to the Hubei Provincial Government and Jingmen Municipal Government for their unwavering support of GEM. He noted that President Xi Jinping’s vision for Hubei’s “strategic pivot” and the provincial leadership’s implementation of seven major strategies provide a strong foundation for GEM’s growth. GEM is committed to accelerating international industrial cooperation, leveraging a “Hubei + Indonesia” dual green industrial base model to build a global resource-market dual circulation system. This strategy will support the realization of a trillion-yuan green industry scale, positioning GEM as a world-class green industry leader to fulfill its mission of green recycling and live up to national expectations.
