In 2021, GEM further improved its organizational structure for safety management which integrates safety, occupational health, and fire protection, and strengthened the implementation of safety responsibilities to meet the needs of safe work.

GEM employs full-time safety managers, and all production and manufacturing departments along with engineering and infrastructure construction departments are staffed with full-time safety officers. Meanwhile, each park employs several provincial safety experts year-round to provide instructions on safety management as safety consultants for GEM. In 2021, GEM revised 112 safety management rules and added 22 new rules, for a total of 453 safety operation procedures having been revised and/or added.
